PRIVACY · UPDATED 5 NOVEMBER 2026

Your media stays yours.

What stays on your computer, what the website receives, and the work still needed before launch.

Scope and current status

This notice describes the current website and the Windows app being prepared for release. Euan Myers, trading as Watermarked, is the South African sole proprietor responsible for the website and app services described here. The service address and direct contact email still need to be published. This notice is not a claim of worldwide legal compliance. New waitlist signups, general enquiries and checkout are paused. The privacy-request form remains available for people whose information may already be held.

Your photos, videos and watermarks

The Windows app processes media on your computer. It does not upload photos, videos, thumbnails or exports to Watermarked, use AI models, or send content to AI services. We do not receive your media to use for model training.

Source files remain unchanged and exports go to your chosen folder. Settings, profiles, watermark paths and export history are stored in a local SQLite database under %LOCALAPPDATA%\CreatorPrep. Export history can contain file paths and processing errors. These records are not automatically uploaded, and the database is not encrypted by the app. Protect access to your Windows account and device.

Temporary thumbnails and working files are normally removed when the app exits. A crash or cleanup failure can leave local cache files behind. Licence credentials and signed access grants are protected separately using Windows data protection. Uninstalling the portable app or ending a subscription does not automatically erase its local data or exports.

If your chosen folders are synced through OneDrive, iCloud or another service, that service may upload files independently. Choose an unsynced local folder if you want to avoid that. Watermarking and blur effects do not guarantee anonymity or prevent copying.

Website records and why they exist

  • Mac waitlist: previously submitted email address, Mac type and signup date, used to measure demand and provide requested Mac availability updates. New signups are paused. This is not a general newsletter or a paid account.
  • Earlier beta enquiries: the former signup database may contain email address, selected platform and signup date. That endpoint is now retired. Those records are not automatically converted into Mac marketing subscriptions.
  • Support and privacy requests: email address, topic, message, reference and submission date, supplied by you so your request can be reviewed and answered. The privacy form needs an email and message to identify the request; do not include private media, identity documents, passwords, card details or complete licence keys. There is no file upload. It records a request, not an automatic email acknowledgement.
  • Licensing at launch: the app sends a licence key and a hashed identifier derived from the Windows account and device. The service checks Lemon Squeezy and stores the licence/device binding, creation date and order-item/subscription identifiers. The hash is a persistent identifier, not anonymous information. Provider responses can contain customer and order information used for verification. Submitted licence keys are not saved in the website database.
  • Cancellation: the purchase email and licence key are used to verify your subscription with Lemon Squeezy. They are not stored in the feedback table. A selected reason (including Prefer not to say), optional comments, subscription reference, submission date and confirmation date may be retained. Feedback is for product improvement; it does not decide whether you may cancel.

You can browse the sample without submitting a form. Without licensing information, the service cannot verify paid access. Waitlist updates are optional and can be stopped. Privacy requests are processed to handle your request and applicable legal obligations; licensing uses information needed to administer the subscription. The final launch notice must document the applicable legal bases for each purpose and market. It will not treat general site use as consent to marketing.

Payments and service providers

Checkout is closed. Lemon Squeezy is the intended merchant of record for payment entry, subscriptions, receipts and transaction obligations, under its own privacy policy. Watermarked does not store card numbers. The publisher can receive order and subscription details through that service.

This website is hosted through ChatGPT Sites using Cloudflare Workers and D1 storage. The site operator and authorised hosting/service personnel can have access to records needed to run or support those services. Providers may process connection data such as IP addresses, request times and browser information in operational logs. Authorities or advisers may receive relevant records where legally required or necessary to deal with a dispute.

Online records are not promised to stay in South Africa or in your country. The applicable provider contracts, processing locations, retention arrangements and lawful cross-border safeguards have not yet been fully verified. That review is a launch requirement; this notice does not assert that data residency or international-transfer compliance is already established.

The browser demo, cookies and tracking

The interactive demonstration uses stock photographs. An optional PNG or WEBP watermark image you select is read and processed in your browser; our demo code does not upload it. It stays in page memory until replaced or the page is closed. Sample exports are generated locally.

We have not added advertising pixels, marketing analytics, data-sale integrations or an analytics cookie banner. Necessary hosting cookies or operational logging may still be used by infrastructure. External links, including payment and source links, have their own notices. Future optional tracking would require a fresh assessment and any required choice before it runs.

Retention and deletion: current limits

The current website has no automatic expiry job for waitlist, support, licence-binding, subscription-mapping or cancellation-feedback records. Retention periods and a routine review/deletion process still need to be established. Indefinite retention is not a launch policy: the operator must review existing records, remove information no longer needed and document any legally necessary exceptions before reopening collection.

You can request access, correction, removal or stopping waitlist updates through the privacy-request form. Requests require review and proportionate identity verification; they do not instantly delete a database row. Information needed for an unresolved dispute or a legal obligation may need to be retained, with the reason explained. Provider transaction records and hosting backups can have separate retention obligations; deletion here does not automatically delete them.

Local app data remains under your control. Close the app before managing its local data folder. Removing licence data can require reactivation; removing settings/history loses those records. Exported files stay wherever you saved them.

Your rights and complaints

Depending on applicable law, you may request access to your information, correction, deletion, restriction, portability or object to processing. Where processing relies on consent, you can withdraw it without affecting earlier lawful processing. These rights have legal conditions; we will not require marketing consent to handle a privacy request. No automated profiling or advertising decisions are implemented. Licence checks automatically verify subscription status; disputed access can be raised for review.

The current request channel is Help & contact — Privacy or waitlist removal. Include the email used and the type of record, not sensitive documents. The operator still needs to publish a direct privacy contact and establish a monitored response process. The form does not guarantee an immediate response.

You may complain to South Africa's Information Regulator, including at POPIAComplaints@inforegulator.org.za, or to a competent privacy authority where you live. Applicable rights to complain do not depend on using our form first.

Children, security and changes

The service is intended for adults who can enter a subscription contract. Do not submit information about children or sensitive information in website forms. If such information has been submitted, use the privacy-request form so it can be reviewed.

Licensing calls use HTTPS and local licence credentials use Windows protection. These measures are not a promise of absolute security or protection from a compromised device. No media upload is needed for routine support. The operator must maintain access controls, a breach-response process and any legally required notifications before launch.

The date above identifies this notice. Material changes in collection or purpose will require an updated notice and any legally required notification or consent. A new purpose will not be justified simply by quietly changing this page.
